We are pleased to announce our support of Old Bahama “Bay Fest.”  Bay Fest is an organized crossing to Old Bahama Bay on the northern tip of Grand Bahama Island. The trip will be organized by Mainstreet Marketing and Yacht Management, our partner at two Loggerhead locations.

7:30 am Depart Lake Worth Inlet (staging area SE Corner Peanut Island)
Heading 26° 42.189N 78° 59.872W for Old Bahama Bay - 56 Nautical Miles
10:00 am Arrive Old Bahama Bay
Clear Customs & Immigration
12:00 pm Check into Marina
3:00 pm Check into Hotel
5:00 pm - 7:30 pm Welcome reception in Loggerhead Club & Marina™ Hospitality Suite (look for banners). Please remember to bring a covered dish appetizer to share with other Members. Beverages will be supplied by Loggerhead Club & Marina™.


FRIDAY, JULY 17
3:00 pm - 5:00 pm Managers “Welcome Reception” at Straw Bar Compliments of Old Bahama Bay…Rum Punch and conch fritters.
All Day Shuttles available to Freeport: Shopping, Dining, Casino and nightlife activities. Shuttle additional charge and can be reserved at front desk.


SATURDAY, JULY 18
8:00 am - 4:30 pm Bay Fest Fishing Tournament. ( Must bring fish to weigh station to qualify by 5:00 p.m. )
8:00 am "LINES IN" Fishing Tournament Divisions: Heaviest Fish, Heaviest Dolphin, Heaviest Wahoo, Heaviest Grouper and Heaviest Snapper. Boys 18 and Under: Heaviest Fish. Girls 18 and Under: Heaviest Fish.
ALL DAY REMEMBER: Prepare for Sunday departure. Fuel pumps open at marina.
4:00 pm - 5:00 pm Weigh Station Opens. Must register all "catches" during this time period. Weigh station located under tent.
4:30 pm “LINES OUT”
5:00 pm Weigh In Closes. Results tabulated.
6:00 pm - 8:00 pm The Yacht Club at Delray Beach Bay Fest Tournament Fish Fry Dinner (including tournament catch) and libation at tent located on dock. Casual attire.
7:00 pm Fishing Tournament Awards Announcement. Also review weather reports for departure Sunday morning.
8:00 pm Fish Fry concludes


SUNDAY, JULY 19
7:00 am Prepare for Sunday departure. Check out hotel/marina.
8:00 am Depart Old Bahama Bay Marina for Lake Worth Inlet.
Upon return to U.S., each vessel must report to Customs & Immigration offices for clearance.
Arrival US Waters Upon entering US Waters, or when your cell phone works, call the following US Customs office to declare your return to the US:

You will need to report your vessel registration number (or Document Code if you are a documented vessel or LBO number), and provide name, birthday and passport number for the passengers on your vessel. You will receive a “Clearance Number” which you will present when reporting to a Customs Office in the US.

MONDAY, JULY 20
7:00 am Check out hotel/marina
8:00 am Depart Old Bahama Bay Marina for Lake Worth Inlet.
Upon return to U.S., each vessel must report to Customs & Immigration offices for clearance.

BAY FEST CHECK LIST

ITEMS YOU AND YOUR CREW WILL NEED TO BRING:

  • Passport for each passenger. Mandatory. here’s how you can obtain a passport:
         Go to www.travel.state.gov or call 877-487-2778 or visit the Department of State, Federal Office Building, 3rd Floor, 51 SW
         First Ave, Miami, FL 33130 (call to make appt: 205-539-3600) or visit your local courthouse. Be sure to have 2 forms of ID and
         a passport photo.
  • Vessel Registration
  • Vessel Insurance (confirm approval to leave US waters for Bahamas)
  • Health Insurance Card
  • Any medications you or your passengers currently require
  • Pens for paperwork
  • Life Jackets, flares and other Coast Guard required items for your vessel
  • Quarantine Flag (available at your marina…check with Harbor Master)
  • Bahamas Courtesy Flag (same as above)

    ITEMS SUGGESTED FOR YOUR VESSEL:
  • Tool Kit
  • Extra parts for your vessel such as spark plugs, fuel filters, oil filters, impellers…
  • First Aid Kit
  • Bait
  • Fishing and Diving gear
  • Sea sickness remedies

    PROVISIONS:
  • Water, Gatorade, Soda or other beverages
  • Food
  • Pharmaceuticals such as aspirin, ibuprofen, benadryl, amodium AD, or other medications
  • Libations: Rum is inexpensive in the Bahamas, however, beer may exceed $50 per case.

    SAFETY
    We strongly suggest each vessel obtain a towing membership prior to departing U.S. waters.
